Melany Adams is the athletic trainer for men’s and women’s track and field and women’s soccer. Her main responsibilities are injury prevention and rehabilitation for injuries. 

Adams came to UAlbany after completing a clinical immersion at Stanford University from August to December 2021. Assisting the head athletic trainer with women’s soccer and men’s tennis, she also gained experience in men’s and women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and football. 

She completed two additional clinical immersions - one at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill assisting the head athletic trainer for men’s basketball from March to May 2021 and one at Franklin High School assisting the athletic trainer in charge of basketball, football, and volleyball from October 2020 to November 2020. She also was an athletic training observation student at SUNY Plattsburgh from August 2018 to March 2020. 

She holds certifications in NYS plus in CPR/First Aid/AED for the American Heart Association. She is also a NATA Student Member. 

Adams graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a minor in Personal Training. She earned her master’s degree in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University in 2022.
