2023 marks year two for Melissa Hart as the WPI Women's Soccer Co-Head Coach alongside Steph-Riley Schafer.

Hart is no stranger to the NEWMAC as she served as the head coach for both the MIT women's soccer and basketball programs for six years from 1997-98 through 2002-03 and is one of only two recipients in conference history to claim NEWMAC Coach of the Year honors in both sports. After MIT, Hart made four-year stop in Boston where she was at the helm of the Emerson women's basketball program and a volunteer assistant coach of the Lions' women's soccer team for two seasons. The seasoned dual-sport coach was a two-sport All-American in soccer and basketball as a student-athlete at Hamilton where she holds school records for both programs and began her collegiate coaching career at her alma mater where she held roles as the head soccer, assistant basketball and interim head softball coach within a three-year stint.

Co-Head Coach Hart earned her bachelor of arts degree in English literature at Hamilton and collected her master of science degree in exercise and sport studies from Smith.
