Michael Armas is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach to the CSUN Women's Soccer team in 2022-23.

Prior to joining CSUN, Armas had spent four seasons as the boys soccer varsity head coach at Notre Dame High School. He previously served as the school's varsity assistant for two seasons before becoming the head junior varsity coach for 10 seasons. During Armas' tenure as junior head coach, he won the valley classic and led the team to a second-place finish in nine of his 10 years. Armas would also assist the varsity team to a mission league title in 2017, winning the valley classic in 2016.

Since taking charge of the Varsity in 2018, his teams have qualified for playoffs in every single year of his tenure including a playoff berth in his first year in charge. His second season saw the Knights earn a second round playoff appearance.

Armas earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in applied fitness from CSUN in 2017. He went on to earn his master's degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University in 2019.

Armas possesses a USSF "C" license. He is certified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S.) and coaches club at LA Surf. Outside of Notre Dame, Armas is a strength and conditioning coach at Occidental College in Los Angeles where he trains multiple teams and specifically works with the men's and women's soccer teams.
