Arai is in her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of Portland. Her sports assignments include women’s soccer and men’s tennis.

Before coming to the Bluff, Arai received a bachelor of arts in kinesiology and nutrition science from Whittier College in 2013. She then went on to pursue a Master’s of Science at Pacific University, where she worked as an athletic intern, before transitioning into the Assistant Athletic Intern position at Pacific where she oversaw Men’s Soccer, Swimming, Men’s Tennis, and Women’s Lacrosse.

Arai throughout her educational career she spent time interning with Orthopedic and Fracture Specialists, MaryKnoll Athletics, and Glencoe high school. As an assistant athletic trainer at Pacific she also helped teach courses on the Care and prevention of Athletic Injuries.
