Mike Erwin joined the St. Mary's Women's Soccer staff in spring, 2019, and has helped build momentum that saw the 2022 team advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. In 2023, Erwin and Head Coach Kevin Driggs look to have the team continue the improvement and make a run at the Lone Star title.

Erwin serves as the director of recruitment for the Rattlers, and also works with the Boerne Soccer Club staff in his off time.

He joined the StMU family from Albuquerque, where he was the U13-14 Girls Director of Rio Rapids Soccer Club. He was responsible for the implementation of the Rio Rapids curriculum and development of the under 13 and 14 girls in the club, as well as coaches a U11G and a U14G team in the club.

Erwin is a native New Mexican and is an enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. He grew up playing in Albuquerque club soccer including Rio Vista FC (now Rio Rapids), played collegiately at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Phoenix, Arizona and semi-professionally for both the Albuquerque Asylum and the Banat Storm.

He received his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of New Mexico. He holds his USSF “C” license and his USSF National Youth license.  Erwin enjoys fishing, golfing, playing soccer, and hanging out with his girlfriend and dogs in his free time. He is an ardent Liverpool F.C. supporter and also enjoys watching Major League Fishing.

Erwin moved with his fiancée Liana and two dogs (Stevie G & Carra) from Albuquerque and the quartet now reside in San Antonio.
