Naomi Meiburger returns to the Hilltop for her fourth season after spending five seasons with the Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds where she served as the head coach of the women’s soccer team. Previous to coaching the Greyhounds, Meiburger completed 11 seasons at Georgetown and served as the women’s soccer associate head coach during her last three seasons under Head Coach Dave Nolan.

During her previous stint at Georgetown, Meiburger helped the program to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program’s first Elite 8 appearance in 2010. During that season, she coached United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Region All-American goalkeeper, Jackie DesJardin (2007-10). She helped Coach Nolan guide the program to its first BIG EAST Regular season Championship in 2012 and its first appearance in a BIG EAST Championship that same year.

In her first year at Loyola, Meiburger directed the program to its first-ever Patriot League Tournament appearance, facing Navy in the quarterfinals of the 2014 tournament. She also coached goalkeeper Colleen Folan, who garnered NSCAA Second Team All-Mid Atlantic Region honors after posting the second-longest active shutout streak in the NCAA, second to the 2013 NCAA Champion UCLA.

In 2015, Meiburger guided the team to a fourth-place finish in the Patriot League and the program’s first-ever Patriot League Tournament Semifinal. The Greyhounds hosted their first quarterfinal game in program history at Ridley Athletic Complex, where they came out on top in a double-overtime shootout against Colgate University.

Meiburger coached the only unanimous selection to the 2015 All-Patriot League First Team, Rosy Hayes, who was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. Hayes was the program’s first major award winner since joining the league in 2013 and was accompanied by two other Greyhounds on the All-Patriot League Team. Meiburger went on to coach four more all-conference players in her final season in 2018.

Meiburger is a 2003 graduate of George Mason where she played all four years as a goalkeeper and was a United Soccer Coaches Regional All-American, SoccerBuzz Regional All-American, First-Team All-Virginia and First-Team All-CAA. She graduated with honors, earning her degree in English. Meiburger completed her Master’s Degree in Sports Industry Management at Georgetown University in 2014. She currently holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier License.

She and her husband Joe have two children, Bryce and Marina.
