Natalie Cornu, M.S. (Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® (CMPC))

Natalie Cornu enters her fourth year of working as a mental performance consultant for the Asbury Eagles.

She began her journey at Asbury in Fall 2019 as an intern consultant while completing her second year of graduate school for sport and exercise psychology. As an intern she engaged in mental performance training with various AU teams and continues to expand the range of sports and athletes whom she works with.

Key aspects of mental performance training that Natalie focuses on include confidence building, reframing success, mindfulness, imagery, breathing techniques, gratitude, reflection on values and identity, positive self-talk, awareness and acceptance of emotions, and commitment toward goals.

Natalie looks to extend her work to all AU teams as she continues with her fourth year of mental performance consulting work. She offers both individual consulting sessions and team workshops.

Natalie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2018. She earned a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2020. Natalie received the title of a Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) in 2023.

While at the University of Kentucky, Cornu was a member of the UK Club Running Team where she competed regionally and nationally in both cross country and track. During her time with the team, she had the opportunity to serve as both Vice President and President.

Her inspiration to pursue a career in sport psychology came from her love for and participation in various sports growing up, the admiration she had watching her older brother pitch on the baseball mound, and her passion for psychology. Her faith has always driven her to lay her love for Christ as the foundation of the work she does.

Natalie resides in Lexington, KY with her husband, Matthew, and their son, Cooper. They love hiking, stroller walks through the neighborhood, watching sports, going to coffee shops, game nights with family and friends, listening to music, and praying together.
