Nuno Gourgel is entering his third season as an assistant coach for the Utah women's soccer program.

Gourgel comes to Utah after spending the last year at Utah Valley University. Before Utah Valley, Gourgel was an assistant coach with Robert Morris University's women's soccer program.

Gourgel's coaching credentials include four seasons as the men's and women's head coach at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He started both programs and won 108 games combined during his four seasons, including a 59-7-11 (.837) record with the women.

He was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Women's Coach of the Year three times and coached the Player of the Year in each of those seasons (2016-18). He's also coached at Arizona Christian and for Socker's F.C. in the PDL and currently works with La Roca.

A native of Portugal, he grew up in London, where he played for the professional academy of Tottenham Hotspur FC and Leyton Orient FC. Gourgel attended and played collegiately at Ashford University (Iowa), an NAIA powerhouse.

Gourgel holds an MBA with an emphasis in sports business from Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida. He also has two bachelor's degrees from Ashford University, including a degree in business administration and another in sports recreation management.
