PJ Piotrowski was named the first-ever full time strength and conditioning coach at UW-Superior on July 13, 2021. 2023-24 will be his third season.

Piotrowski oversees the strength and conditioning efforts of nearly 400 Yellowjacket student-athletes across 19 varsity sports programs.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Piotrowski to Yellowjacket Athletics. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will have an immediate impact on our student-athletes and programs," UW-Superior Director of Athletics Nick Bursik said. "This is a great investment into elevating the performance of our student-athletes and programs, and with Coach Piotrowski's leadership the impact will be significant."

A native of Hastings, Minnesota, Piotrowski comes to UW-Superior after as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato. While with the Mavericks, Piotrowski designed and implemented performance programs that include strength, speed, agility, flexibility and mobility for multiple teams. In addition, he had oversight of the scheduling and organization of the weight room activities, and worked closely with head coaches of the various Mankato sports teams, as well as with the athletic training staff.

Prior to his time at Mankato, Piotrowski spent two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Bemidji State University. He also had internships at Boise State University in Idaho where he focused on Olympic sports, as well as Missouri Southern State University.

"I would like thank Nick Bursik and the search committee for the opportunity to join the UW-Superior athletics staff and start building the strength and conditioning program," Piotrowski said. "I am looking forward to working with everyone in the athletics department to see how we can physically prepare student-athletes and improve sport performance."

Piotrowski earned his bachelor of science degree in exercise science with a minor in sports medicine from MSU-Mankato in 2017. He continued his education and earned a master of arts degree in sports management, also from MSU-Mankato in 2022.

Piotrowski resides in Superior.
