Rachel (Lemay) Duble begins her fourth season as the assistant coach for head coach Mark Duble in 2022. In December 2021, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator for the department.
"It is an honor to join the senior staff in the athletic department as the assistant AD and senior woman administrator," said Duble at the time of her promotion. "I have so much respect for where this department has been, where the department is, and where we are going. After being both a student-athlete here and an assistant coach for almost three years now, I am excited to bring my experience and perspectives to the senior staff."
Duble has been the top assistant for head coach Mark Duble in the women's soccer program for three seasons. She helped the program to a USA South Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021.
Not limited to coaching since her arrival as a staff member, she has played critical roles within the Scots Athletic Club along with other administrative responsibilities.
"The athletic department here at Covenant College has a clear mission, 'To explore and express the preeminence of Christ in intercollegiate athletics by cultivating disciples and pursuing excellence.' When you believe in this mission, it is easy to be excited to take on a leadership role within the department," said Duble. "I am most excited to grow and disciple the student-athletes and coaches I have the privilege of leading."
A 2019 graduate of Covenant, she was a four-year standout at goalkeeper. She concluded her career in the fall of 2018 as the top goalkeeper in the USA South. Duble was named the USA South Goalkeeper of the Year, while also earning All-USA South first team and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region first team honors. She tallied eight shutouts on the year and led the USA South in minutes played. Her 127 saves for the season were the most of any Covenant keeper since 2004.
In her career on the field, Duble was a three-time All-USA South first team honoree and a three-time All-USA South West Division first team selection. She earned All-Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches in 2017 and earned USA South All-Academic twice. Duble totaled 303 career saves with 26 total shutouts, both the most for any Covenant keeper since 2004.
Duble earned her bachelor's degree in sport administration from Covenant in 2019. She completed her master's degree in business administration from Belhaven in 2021.
She and her husband, JohnMark, live on Lookout Mountain.
