A valued member of Cal State LA's women's soccer coaching staff, Ramon Melin returns for his fourth season with the Golden Eagles.

Melin has done a tremendous job with Cal State LA's goalkeepers during his tenure with the Golden Eagles. He joined the program in 2018 and has helped the Golden Eagles to a 25-24-3 record in his first three seasons with three CCAA Tournament appearances and one trip to the NCAA playoffs.

Melin coached Adriana Maldonado in his first season in 2018 and helped her earn All-CCAA honorable mention. She recorded eight shutouts and had a goals against average of 0.70 while allowing only 13 goals in 18 games.

In 2019, Cal State LA was again very stout defensively and goalkeeper Amanda Leal allowed only 17 goals in 18 games with eight shutouts.

This past season, Melin did an admirable job helping the Golden Eagles with a pair of freshman goalkeepers, Areli Reyes and Olivia Spanish. Cal State LA had a goals against average of 1.16 and qualified for the CCAA Championships once again.

Melin also has other extensive coaching experience. He is currently the goalkeeper director for FC Golden State and has helped the boys team to a pair of national titles.

He has also been an assistant coach for the LA Force since 2018 and helped the team become a national finalist in 2021. Melin also assists the USL 2 FC Golden State Force and helped the team become a West Regional Finalist.

Melin was also an assistant coach at La Salle High School for both the girls and boys soccer teams from 2016-18. The girls team won a CIF championship and was a state finalist.
