Rose Lucidi enters her ninth year as the head coach of the SUNY Canton women's soccer program during the 2023-24 academic year.
The Roos made the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament in their first three years in the conference under Coach Lucidi. The team also made its first appearance in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament during the 2017 season after falling in the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) championship match to Alfred State.
Lucidi led the Roos to the inaugural ACAA Conference Tournament title during 2016 as the Roos earned a 2-0 win v. the University of Maine Presque Isle in the championship match.
Prior to her time at SUNY Canton, Lucidi served as the assistant coach at Mount Aloysius where the team set numerous program records.
Lucidi helped lead the Mount Aloysius women’s program to a school record seven wins as they recorded a program-best five shutouts on the defensive end in 2014. Two of her players were named to the All-Conference Team, while two players were also recognized as Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Players of the Week. The Bayville, NY native helped the Mounties to a seven match winning streak early on in the season.
Aside from her on-field assistant coaching duties, Lucidi gained tremendous experience in day-to-day operations of the team with the Mounties including practice planning, scouting, recruiting and fundraising. She was key to the 12 player recruiting class that Mount Aloysius will bring in this fall. Lucidi also organized a fundraiser 3 kilometer Veteran’s Fun Run to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The run featured 72 total participants and raised nearly $1,000 for the WWP.
Prior to her time at Mount Aloysius, Lucidi was a two-sport athlete at Juniata College where she competed in four years of soccer and three years of track and field. Lucidi appeared in 65 matches during four seasons for the Eagles recording seven goals and five assists during her junior and senior seasons. In her four years at Juniata, the Eagles recorded at least nine wins in three of her four seasons. In her senior season Juniata finished with a 14-6 record, reached the Landmark Conference Tournament semifinals and made an ECAC Tournament appearance. On the track and field team she competed in the 55, 60, 100 and 200 meter sprinting events.
Lucidi was a four-year starter on defense at Locust Valley High School. She received all-class and all-county honors in both her junior and senior seasons.
Lucidi interned with the Long Island Rough Riders soccer organization in event promotions during the summer of 2013. While at Juniata, Lucidi also interned in the school's Sports Information department where she managed social media accounts for athletics, organized special game day events such as the Women's Basketball Pink Game, and interviewed athletes for feature articles on the school's athletics website.
