Rosie Famolaro began her tenure as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in 2021, and enters her third season at the helm in 2023. 

Most recently, in the 2022 season, Famolaro led the Knights to an 8-9-4 finish and a berth in the AEC Championship; the program’s first championship appearance in 11 years. Three Knights garnered AEC All-Conference Honors; Jaclyn Burmood (First-Team), Chloe Britton (Second-Team), and Rebecca Spence (Second-Team). Chloe Britton also became the first women’s soccer player in program history to earn DIII All-ECAC accolades. Additionally, three young ladies earned the United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction Award for their performance on the field, the classroom, and community; Dariana Troilo, Emily Cooper, and Rebecca Spence earned this honor. Famolaro and her staff of Angelica Kays, Briana King, and Kurt Nusshag were also awarded as the AEC Coaching Staff of the Year.

In her first season, Famolaro guided the Knights to a 7-11 finish and a semi-final berth in the AEC playoffs; the best post-season finish for the program in 7 years. Three Knights were named to the AEC All-Conference Second-Team; Chloe Britton, Emily Cooper, and Kaitlin Thomas. The Knights were also honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their exemplary performance in the classroom – earning a team GPA of over a 3.0.

Prior to being named Head Coach, Famolaro spent four seasons in upstate New York as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the State University of New York at Cobleskill. Over her tenure, she was charged with rebuilding a program and led the Fighting Tigers to one of the best turnarounds in the country in Division III. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Famolaro served as the Student-Athlete Affairs Administrator and Summer Camp Coordinator.

Famolaro began her coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Neumann University with the women’s soccer program under Lauren Sciocchetti during the 2015 season. Famolaro then took on the role of Director of Soccer Operations with the women’s soccer program at Villanova University during the 2016 season.

Famolaro, an alumna of Neumann University, graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport and Entertainment Management in 2014. She was a four-year member of the women’s soccer program and captained the team during her senior season. In her senior year, Famolaro was the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Woman of the Year and was an NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee.

She then earned her Master’s of Science degree in Sport Business from Temple University in 2016 where she served as the Graduate Assistant in Marketing for the Campus Recreation department.

Famolaro holds her USSF “D” License and has experience serving on the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee and the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings Committee.
