Ryan Duffy enters his seventh school year as SUNY Old Westbury's assistant athletic trainer.

Duffy arrives at Old Westbury after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Virginia from 2016-17. While earning his masters of education at Virginia, Duffy was responsible for overseeing athletic training duties for the women's volleyball program. 

Duffy graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training/sports medicine from Quinnipiac University.  During his senior year, Duffy served as the primary athletic training student for the men's lacrosse program at Yale University.  In 2015, Duffy served as the primary athletic training student for Quinnipiac's women's track & field program as well as the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer and women's volleyball programs.  Duffy also gained additional experience as an athletic training student for preseason football camps at Stanford University (2015) and University of Maryland (2014).    

Duffy is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, and holds a certification in the Gratson M1 Technique and is a Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Duffy is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). 

A native of Holtsville, New York, Duffy was a four-year member of the cross country and track & field teams at Sachem High School East.
