Sal Minor was named the new Head Women's Soccer Coach during the spring 2023 semester, after spending the 2022 season as the Interim Head Coach. During the 2021 season, Minor served as a volunteer coach with the Women's Soccer program. During his tenure as Interim Head Coach, he led the Lions to their first victory since 2019. The team was phenomenal in the classroom, reaching a team GPA of 3.38 during the Spring 2023 semester.

Minor is a licensed U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) coach. He holds numerous soccer Diplomas and Certificates which includes NSCAA Level 1 Goalkeeper Diploma, NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Diploma, Pre-National Diploma, Director of Coaching Diploma and holds a FA Level 1 Talent Identification license from the Union of European Football (UEFA). He is also a former semi-pro soccer player and fell in love with soccer during the 1994 FIFA World Cup where he enjoyed watching the Brazilian National Team. At the age of 8 years old, Minor started learning the rules of the game and how to play. He played recreation soccer until high school, where he played 4 years for Dover High School on the JV and varsity teams. His love for the game continued when he played for Delaware Technical & Community College (NJCAA DI) and a spent nearly eight years playing for several semi-pro club soccer teams. 

After his playing career, Minor transitioned into the coaching world and started coaching privately. He joined the Delaware Union coaching staff from 2014-2016. Sal enjoyed coaching young people on the game of soccer and served his community by volunteering to serve as boys coach at Lake Forest High School in 2014. He then became the Assistant Coach in 2015 for the boy's team (2014-2016) and girls' team (2015-2020). Minor also served as boys Head Coach for First State Military Academy from 2016-2018. Minor later coached U14 boys at Coastal Atlantic Futbol Club from 2016-2019. He also served as a staff coach and later a goalkeeper coach in 2019. In 2016, Minor also joined the staff at Wesley College (NCAA DIII) as a goalkeeper coach. During his time there, he would help the team to make history in 2018, when they tied the NCAA Record as the best single season record turnaround. The team had a losing season in 2017 and turned it around with the most win percentage in a turnaround in NCAA history.

Minor also served as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Lone Stars FC (semi-pro), who competes in the USL League Two and the National Premier Soccer League. He comes from NCAA Division III Wesley College, where he was the goalkeeper coach. Additionally, he served as the head boys soccer coach at Lake Forest High School.

Minor’s coaching background also includes stops at First State Military Academy, Delaware Union and Coastal Atlantic Futbul Club.

He is a licensed U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) coach and holds NSCAA Level 1 goalkeeper diploma, NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Diploma and is pursuing his D License.
