Scott Halasz joined the Washington State women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach, Jan. 19, 2024.

Halasz, a Washington native, returned to the Evergreen State after 11 seasons in Salt Lake City with the University of Utah. Halasz spent the last six seasons as the associate head coach for the Utes (2018-23). The Utes made the NCAA Tournament in Halasz's first season, 2013. He then helped them to the best finish in Utah program history during the 2016 campaign. In 2019, Halasz helped guide Utah in its return to the NCAA Championships, marking his third appearance to the tournament as a member of the Ute staff. During his time in Salt Lake City, Halasz worked with 10 All-Pac-12 selections and seven United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees.

Halasz, a Seattle native, served as an assistant at Pacific Lutheran University prior to his tenure at Utah. Halasz has over 20 years of coaching experience and served as a coach with the Washington Premier soccer club. He was also the Washington Premier ECNL Director and coached numerous Washington state ODP and EDP teams.

A men’s soccer assistant coach at Tacoma Community College from 2005-07, Halasz graduated from Seattle University in 2003.
