Stephanie Cox was named Puget Sound's head coach in December 2022 after serving as the interim head coach for the 2022 season. Cox led the 2022 Loggers to a 16-4-1 overall record and an at-large bid for the NCAA D-III Championship. Eight Loggers earned All-NWC honors in 2022, and Ava Cholakian was named the NWC Offensive Player of the Year.

Cox won an Olympic gold medal as a member of the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) in 2008. She was also a member of the national teams that placed third in 2007 World Cup, and second in the 2011 World Cup. Overall, Cox played 89 games for USWNT. 

Cox also played in U.S. professional leagues for several years. Her most recent stint was with the OL Reign in Seattle (2019-21). 

In addition to playing professionally, Cox was the head coach for Gig Harbor Girls Soccer from 2015 through 2019. 

Cox competed collegiately at the University of Portland, where she and the Pilots won the NCAA national title in 2005.
