Head coach Kai Edwards added Steven Lindquist as a volunteer assistant coach ahead of the 2021 season. After just one year with the program, Lindquist was promoted to assistant coach/recruiting coordinator.

In their first season competing in the Western Athletic Conference, Lindquist helped lead the Thunderbirds to the most successful season in program history in 2022. Southern Utah set a record of most consecutive wins (5) en route to a 9-6-2 finish. Lindquist assists with the midfield and backline in addition to coordinating the Thunderbird soccer recruiting efforts.

"I had the pleasure of working with Steven at Oakland University," Edwards said. "He has developed well under JuanPa and Brian's tutelage and has been a part of turning the Oakland program around. The Golden Grizzlies are back to being a consistent conference tournament team and a threat to make a deep postseason run. Steven and his wife Kelsey being willing to move across the country to work at SUU is a testament to our ladies creating an environment that people want to be a part of.”

PRIOR TO SUU

Lindquist arrived in Cedar City from Oakland University in Michigan where he had been a member of the women's soccer staff since 2017. In his four years with the Golden Grizzlies, Lindquist coached six All-Horizon League players, three All-Freshman, and four All-Horizon League Tournament athletes. Prior to Oakland University, Lindquist coached at the junior college and club level.

Lindquist earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Valparaiso University and his Master's Degree in Higher Education Leadership from Oakland University.
