Terry Harris enters his fifth year as the Wilson College head women's soccer coach. Prior to being named head coach, Harris was named the interim head coach in July 2019.
He has an overall record of 31-20-3 in three seasons of competition and an outstanding 19-7-1 in conference play. He has coached the program to back-to-back semifinal appearances and Harris was named the 2021 Coach of the Year for the CSAC. Wilson has had 13 all conference players along with the rookie of the year in 2021 and the defensive player of the year in 2022 under his guidance.
Wilson set several team records in 2022 such as where the team scored a record 76 goals and only allowed 15. Nationally the Phoenix were ranked fourth in the nation in corner kicks per game and 14th for overall corners on the year.
Prior to Wilson, Harris came to Chambersburg from Penn State-Mont Alto after serving as the assistant coach of the women’s soccer program, where they reached the semifinals in conference playoffs in 2018. Before his time at Mont Alto, Harris started coaching at the early age of 14 where he coached a U8 indoor soccer team at his local recreation department. Harris has coached several club, high school, and middle school teams throughout his seasoned coaching career. He also spent time as a volunteer at the Special Olympics where he assisted as a referee.
Shortly after graduating high school, Harris entered the United States Navy where he served as an air traffic controller for five years. While serving he played several matches overseas in the military. Afterwards Terry began working with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller and has just recently retired after 30 years of government service. While working in the FAA, he has played on a team representing the United States Air Traffic Controllers in the European Air Traffic Controllers Cup for five years.
Harris has been married for 28 years to his wife Angela and has three children and two grandchildren.
