St. Joseph’s University, New York (L.I.) Director of Athletics Melody Cope announced the appointment of Tom Williamson as head coach of the institution’s women’s soccer team.
“It is with great pride and excitement that we announce Tom as the new head coach for our women’s soccer program,” stated Cope. “Tom has already demonstrated his commitment to the growth and success of our student-athletes and combined with his extensive coaching experience and understanding of our department’s values make him a natural fit to lead our program.”
Williamson takes over the reins after Emily Morphitis guided the program for the last four seasons. No stranger to Patchogue, Williamson has served as an assistant coach at St. Joseph’s since the 2019 season where the Golden Eagles have since produced a 24-21-5 record with three Skyline Conference Tournament appearances.
Prior to the Golden Eagles, Williamson spent four years as an assistant coach at NCAA Div. II LIU Post where in the 2017 season, the Pioneers finished as regular season champions and earned a berth into the NCAA East Regional.
Williamson earned his BA in Sport Management from Coventry University in Warwickshire, United Kingdom.
