Trey North joined the Hokies in February of 2023 and serves as an Assistant Director, S/C, Olympic Sports. He will work with the women's soccer team, men's and women's tennis programs as well as women's golf.

He previously worked at Mississippi State from January of 2019 to 2023 and during that time he also had direct oversight of the men’s and women’s track and field and women’s cross country teams (July 2019-Aug 2021) in addition to men's golf. He later trained women's soccer and the men's and women's golf teams from August 2021 until his departure in 2023.

Before joining Mississippi State’s staff, North worked as a Graduate Assistant at James Madison where he was directly responsible for men’s soccer and men’s and women’s cheer.

Prior to his time at James Madison, North worked as an intern at Clemson where he assisted with men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, track and field, rowing, volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis and cheer.

North received an M.S. in Strength and Conditioning from LaGrange College where he was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for softball, cross country and swimming.

North graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in physical education and sport with a concentration in exercise science. While attending IUP, North was a member of the men’s track and field team.

North holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC), the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI LV1), as well as SuperSpeed Golf (Level 2). North is also a FRC mobility specialist (FRCms).
