Austin Gorman enters his first season at RMU as an Assistant and Goalkeeping Coach for the men's soccer team.

He's also currently the head coach for the 2011 FC Pittsburgh Boys team, and holds a National D License. In addition, Gorman holds a level I and II United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Diploma.

Previously, Gorman was an Assistant Coach at the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg for two seasons. This past year in 2022, he helped the Bobcats to a 9-7-4 overall record and 4-2-1 record in AMCC play. His team reached the semifinal of the AMCC tournament. Under his leadership, goalkeeper Danny Rodgers earned third-team all-conference, and four other field players made all-conference accolades during the 2022 campaign.

In 2021, Gorman assisted Head Coach Marc Bucci to a record of 7-10-1 in his first season. Ending an 8-year playoff drought in the AMCC, he also helped lead first year new comers, goalkeeper Danny Rodgers, and Midfielder, Ross Hartley to all-conference selections in the 2021 season.

In addition to his work at Pitt for two years, Gorman was the head coach of the 2005 South Elite team and on the goalkeeping staff with Beadling Soccer Club. His 2005 Boys competed in the regional Great Lakes Alliance (GLA) league. Reaching the USYS Presidents Cup final in 2019, Gorman helped lead his crew to the Regional Event later on in the season. Austin assisted Head Coach Rob Van Rheenen with his former high school team, Ambridge, in the 2020 season, right after graduating in Spring of 2020. He coached the team to a playoff win and home game, as well as a run at the WPIAL tournament.

Gorman returned to the AMCC from his 4 year playing career at La Roche University. As a 4-year starter, Austin helped lead La Roche to four consecutive playoff spots in the AMCC. He was ranked #33 in NCAA Division III for Saves Per Game as a freshman (2016). He went on to be named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week twice in his college career, and served as Team Captain as a Senior. His performance against Franciscan in the first round of the AMCC Playoffs lead the Redhawks to the Semi-Finals (Oct, 2016) and helped clinch a playoff spot for the team his senior season (Oct, 2019).

Gorman hails from Ambridge, Pennsylvania where he was a 4-year starter as well. Appointed team captain his Junior and Senior seasons, and an All-Section and All-WPIAL Selection for the same (2014-1015). He was named All-WPIAL Defensive Player of the Year (2015). He participated in the All-WPIAL selection match and was named MVP in 2015. Austin led his team his last two high school seasons to a home playoff game and a run at the WPIAL tournament. Gorman also played for Beadling Soccer Club during his high school career.
