"I've known Casey for a good few years now. He was the head coach at Cazenovia which unfortunately shut down. So, I'm absolutely delighted to have him on board as my assistant," said Le Moyne men’s soccer interim head coach Callum Donnelly ’17, M ‘21.

Murphy has also served as an assistant coach for the Utica City FC, where he was responsible for updating the organization's use of technology to help improve individual and team tendencies. He was also involved in the review and breakdown of game film. Murphy started his coaching career as a club soccer head coach in Syracuse, New York.

During his rookie campaign with the 'Phins in 2011, Murphy appeared in 16 games with 15 starts and tallied three goals and two assists as the Dolphins put together an 11-8-1 record and advanced to the NE10 Championship Semifinals. Due to his play, Murphy earned a spot on the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

Murphy led Le Moyne in points and was fourth in the NE10 in goals scored with 10 during his sophomore season in 2012. He led all NE10 players in goals scored during conference play (10). He also contributed two assists and logged a total of 1,429 minutes in 16 starts. Following the season, Murphy was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team, and was subsequently selected to the NSCAA All-East Region Third Team.
