Hord rejoins his alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2023 season. Hord played at UC Davis from 2010-2013. After playing at UC Davis in 2015, Hord began his professional playing career by signing a pro contract with Yxhults IK, a Swedish Division 3 club outside Orebro, Sweden. After playing the 2015 season in Sweden, Hord returned to the U.S. to sign his second professional contract with the Sacramento Republic FC from 2016-2019. Hord retired in 2019, and since the end of his playing career, he has turned his focus to serving players as a coach and mentor, primarily at the collegiate level. The former defender completed his higher education in 2020 and 2022 to help him in his efforts – completing Master’s Degrees in Kinesiology and Sports Psychology. Upon finishing his degree in Kinesiology, he immediately returned to the beautiful game as a volunteer assistant coach at Folsom Lake College in 2020.

From 2021-2022, he served as Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer program at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA, where he led the Giants to their first NorCal Playoff berth in over a decade. Following the 2022 season, he was named the Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year after leading his side to a 10-9-1 record – a seven-win improvement from the prior year – and doubling the program's size from his first season in 2021. In addition to his role at College of the Sequoias, Hord joined Fresno State Women’s Soccer as volunteer assistant coach and USL League One Club Central Valley Fuego FC as the head assistant coach.

In addition to his current coaching role at UC Davis, Hord has rejoined the Sacramento Republic as the 2010 academy team head coach for the 2023-24 season.
