Gianluca Orsini joined the Barry University men's soccer coaching staff as volunteer assistant coach in August 2023.

Orsini previously coached as head coach for several clubs in Italy, starting in the 2010-11 season in the academy of a non-professional club, leading his teams to achieve excellent results in their leagues.

Thanks to a very good job done in four years with lower tier clubs, Orsini started his first experience in an Italian professional club, joining Frosinone Calcio in the 2014-15 season as academy head coach. During three years, he led several academy teams to the title in some tournaments and helping the club to develop his youth talent players.

For the 2017-18 season, Orsini joined AS Roma as head coach where he worked in the academy for three seasons. During this experience, he coached both men’s and women’s teams, leading them to several titles and a national final four in 2018-19.

After three seasons with AS Roma, he joined again Frosinone Calcio's academy in August 2020, coaching in the technical center located in Rome. Here, as head coach, he led the U19 men’s team for two years. In the second year, the goal was to try to not be relegated at the end of the season. Orsini led the team to the sixth position, marking a remarkable overachievement for that season.

Orsini moved to Miami in July 2023 and joined Miami Shores FC as head coach in the academy of the club.

Orsini currently holds a UEFA A license, an Academy Manager license and a Match Analyst license. He earned all these three licenses in Coverciano, the Italian Federation Technical Center.

In 2018 Orsini also earned a master’s degree in sport management in the University of Rome Foro Italico.
