James Wright, one of the most decorated players in LeTourneau University soccer history, has been a member of the YellowJacket coaching staff since 1998.

A native of Grimsby, England, Wright played, started and was team captain for four straight years for the YellowJackets. He earned numerous postseason awards, including NCCAA and NAIA All-America honors. Wright was named a National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association First Team All-American as a senior, and was inducted into the LETU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.

Wright is a teacher and head boys soccer coach at Longview High School, where he was named the 2006 and 2018 District Coach of the Year. He was named East Texas Coach of the Year in 2018.

Wright and his wife, Margaret, reside in Longview with their three children.
