Jory Shene enters his second season with the Pacific Men’s Soccer program, assisting his former Boxer teammate and current Head Coach, Brandon Porter. In addition to his coaching role, Shene is also a high school math teacher at Glencoe High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.

After over a decade as a high school head coach on both the girls and boys sides, Jory returns home to his alma mater to oversee the goalkeepers for the Pacific University men’s soccer program. During his coaching career, Jory has won numerous league titles with Molalla and McMinnville high schools, as well as a State Championship with Molalla. He was also recognized as the State Coach of the Year that year as well.

A four-year starter at Pacific from 2003-2006, Jory backstopped the Boxers 60 times and held over an 80% save percentage over the course of those years. He was recognized to the All-Conference Team both his junior and senior years and during his senior campaign was voted to the National D3 Team of the Week twice after shutouts of nationally ranked Whitworth and Puget Sound. Shene still holds school records for saves and saves per game and was ranked nationally in those categories.

After playing at Pacific, Shene was invited to tryout for the then USL Portland Timbers and progressed through the tryout process. He then joined USL/PDL Team Cascade Surge for two years as a professional soccer player.

Shene resides in Cornelius with his wife Rikki and their four children. He is a 2007 graduate of Pacific with a Business Management degree and has a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix.
