Patrick Fitzgerald begins his fourth season as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Midwestern State in the 2022 season. This follows a standout career for the Maroon and Gold.

Fitzgerald wrapped up his playing career in the 2019 season and helped the Mustangs compile a 32-6-3 record over the previous two seasons, including a 19-4-1 mark in conference play. 

Fitzgerald was a D2CCA All-American in 2017, starting all 23 games as the Mustangs reached the NCAA Elite Eight. He also earned first team All-Conference and All-Region honors after finishing the season with seven goals and an assist.   

As a sophomore in 2016, Fitzgerald helped the Mustangs advance to the NCAA Elite Eight by spearheading a defensive unit that ranked eighth nationally with a 0.65 goals against average and 13th in the country with a 0.52 shutout percentage. 

Fitzgerald began his playing career at Rose State, where he was an NJCAA Division I Region 2 All-Conference selection after scoring three goals and handing out three assists.

A native of Waterford, Ireland, Fitzgerald prepped at De La Salle College. He won the Munster Soccer League title and All-Ireland Schools crown and captained the Ireland U18 team in games against England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
