Richard Punt is entering his fourth season as head men's soccer coach, and will be starting his first year as Fitness Center and Work Study Coordinator at Immaculata. In 2022 the Mighty Macs men's soccer team finished with a 7-8-3 overall, and a 2-3-1 record in Atlantic East Conference play. The Macs finished in fourth place in the conference, but fell to Centenary 2-1 in the Quarterfinal round of the Atlantic East Tournament. Punt helped mentor two first team all-conference and two second team all-conference selections in 2022. Punt has a career record of 15-20-5, and with post season appearances in 2021 and 2022, advancing to the semifinals in 2021.
Richard Punt was named the head men's soccer at Immaculata in Fall 2020, following a successful two-year stint as the lead assistant and recruiting coordinator under former head coach Jamie Scott. Punt joined the full-time staff as the Intramurals Coordinator in July 2021.
In Coach Punt’s first season at the helm of the Mighty Macs men’s soccer team, the team finished with a 1-1-1 record and one exhibition win against Marywood University. The Mighty Macs tied and then defeated Wesley College to start the season before concluding the shortened season with a 5-1 loss against rival Cabrini University.
Punt joined Immaculata in advance of the 2018 season as an assistant coach under head coach Jamie Scott. During his tenure as the Macs top-assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Punt helped guide the Macs to 18 victories and a pair of postseason appearances, including the program's first Conference Championship in the 2019 season. Additionally, Punt also helped to mentor eight all-conference selections (including three first teamers) along with the 2019 Atlantic East Rookie of the Year, Josh Fonder.
Prior to joining the staff at Immaculata, Punt served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Fever, a U23 team for a year, and prior to that, he was the Regional Director of the United Soccer Academy. Additionally, Punt also possesses extensive international soccer coaching experience having served as the coordinator of soccer camps for the Arsenal Soccer School and as a coach/scout with the West Bromwich Albion Football club.
In addition to serving as the head coach at Immaculata, Punt also currently works with Penn Fusion as the head coach of the 2004 ECNL and 2003 Predator teams. Prior to his position with Penn Fusion, Punt served as the Technical Director of Global Premier Soccer, where he is responsible for implementing Seasons Periodization Plans across all Global Premier Soccer New Jersey teams while also leading professional development sessions to educate the coaching staff.
He graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Psychology.
