Zack Ernst joined the Piedmont staff as an assistant men's soccer coach in the summer of 2023. He joined the Lions after working as a TOCA soccer trainer following his graduation from Berry College in May of 2022.

Ernst began his coaching career at the Atlanta Fire United SA Summer camps in 2019 where he assisted in all coaching activities. During his time at Berry, he also assisted in coaching responsibilities for recruiting camps in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

As a player at Berry, Ernst spent four years in the Vikings' program, assisting the program in winning the 2021 SAA Conference Championship. He played a key role for the squad and earned SAA All-Conference honors following the campaign.

In his career with the Vikings, he appeared in 54 contests, scoring 10 goals and adding seven assists.

Ernst earned his bachelor's in exercise science from Berry College in 2022.
