Coaching Career Prior to Salisbury

MacDougall comes to Salisbury after three seasons as the head coach at Shenandoah University. MacDougall led the Hornets to their best season since 2004 with eight wins in 2021 and the team's first-ever Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) postseason appearance. The Hornets also had two All-ODAC selections in Niclas Vavra and Nathan Yared, which were the most all-conference honorees in program history and first since 2015.

Prior to Shenandoah, MacDougall spent a year as the lead assistant at the University of Mary Washington in 2018. MacDougall helped the Eagles finish the 2018 season with a 14-1-5 overall record, a 5-1-1 record in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC, now Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference) and a CAC Championship along with the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Before UMW, MacDougall also spent time as the lead assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan for a year and at Randolph College from 2012-17. At Randolph, MacDougall was on the staff that won the 2013 ODAC Regular Season Championship and finished the season as ODAC Tournament finalists.

Playing Career

MacDougall played four seasons at Randolph (2007-10), where he was a two-time team captain and earned All-ODAC honors in 2010.

Personal Life

MacDougall graduated from Randolph in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He also earned his Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus in Secondary Education from Randolph in 2014.
