Angeline Friel will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2023 season, as announced by head coach Ashley Phillips in August.

A goalkeeper for the Huskies from 2019-22, Friel is set to be behind the bench for the upcoming 2023 season.

“We are thrilled to add Angeline Friel to our coaching staff for the ‘23 season,” remarked Phillips. “Ang was a great player for us. She’s absorbed a ton of goalkeeping knowledge through her experience, which will be instrumental in helping our keepers continue to grow. She’s a phenomenal leader and will be an amazing mentor to our players throughout the season. I’m thrilled to keep her involved with the team for another year.”

In her four seasons with the Huskies, Friel played in 32 career games and owned a 1.05 goals against average and .812 save percentage. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native was captain of the Huskies during the 2022 season and helped guide the squad to their second-straight CAA Championship game appearance.
