The 2023 season will mark Anthony “TJ” Andrews' first season as the inaugural Head Coach of the Virginia State University Women's Soccer team in 2023. The Trojans Athletic Department previously announced the addition of women's soccer as an official university-sponsored sport in 2022.

Prior to his arrival at VSU, he made stops at New Covenant Christian School (Lynchburg, VA), Heritage High School (Lynchburg, VA), Jefferson Forest High School (Bedford, VA), Sweet Briar College (Amherst, VA), and Soccer Shots (Atlanta, GA). Coach Andrews has several years of coaching experience, ranging from U12 Youth Soccer, high school men’s and women's soccer, women's collegiate soccer, and men’s club league soccer. 

A Lynchburg, VA native, Anthony attended Liberty University where he studied Elementary-Education. 

Coach Andrews brings passion, enthusiasm, knowledge, and a desire to create champions on and off the field here at Virginia State. Coach Andrews is overwhelmed with excitement about bringing a new sports opportunity to VSU. He hopes will add to the life-changing experience that soccer already provides.
