The 2023 season marks the inaugural season of Virginia State University women’s soccer, assistant coach Frasier Brickhouse joined head coach Anthony Andrews staff in the Summer.

“It’s exciting to be a vessel within this vision of not only coaching but leading the very first team in school history,” said Brickhouse. “I am grateful for coach Andrews bringing me aboard and I’m ready to go to work because we have a great group of young ladies that are here, have bought in, and trust us.”

Soccer has been an integral part of the Chester, VA natives’ life since early childhood.

Brickhouse brings 18 years of playing experience to VSU paired with almost seven years of coaching experience. He has been the Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at nearby Matoaca High School since 2020. In 2017 he served as the JV Assistant Boys Soccer Coach Heritage High School in Lynchburg, VA. Building on that experience, he later moved on to coach the JV Boys Soccer team at Thomas Dale High School.

He holds a US Soccer Federation “C “Coaching License.

Brickhouse possesses a skill set and love for the game that has equipped him to be a player’s coach, while grounding his coaching style on the fundamentals and a vision that stresses excellence on and off the field.

Over the past several years Brickhouse has also worked and gave back to the local community as a Travel Soccer Coach with the Richmond Strikers and several other elite teams within the Richmond Strikers organization. “Working with the Strikers has been an invaluable opportunity for me to learn from great coaches and talented players alike,” said Brickhouse.” These experiences are assets that will drive VSU women’s soccer to continue to make greater happen here.

Brickhouse earned his bachelor's degree from Lynchburg College in 2017 and obtained a master's degree in Sport Management from Liberty University in 2022.
