Becky Scroger became the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at William Peace University in January of 2022.

Scroger took over a team that was 4-7-3 in the previous year. In her first season at the helm in Fall 2022, the Pacers broke program records in nearly every statistical category, posting a 11-6 overall record and a 5-4 conference mark. This was the most wins in a season for the program. It was also the program’s best conference record and highest conference finish ever, culminating in a Top 4 finish and hosting a USA South Conference Tournament game for the first time in history. Kyra Delaney tied the single-season individual school scoring record and six players received USA South All-Conference honors, including two First Team Selections, which is the most in one season in program history. Delaney and Raine Greene were also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team, becoming the first All-Region selections in program history.

In 2023, the Pacers again broke multiple school records, including the most goals scored in a season, and made the USA South Conference Tournament quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. Emma Avery set new school records for goals scored in a single season (15 goals) and most points in a single season (34 points - 15 goals, 4 assists). Two players were named to theUSA South All-Conference Team and for the second consecutive year, the Pacers had a player receive United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team recognition, as Avery was a Third Team All-Region honoree.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Scroger has coached at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels.

Prior to her arrival at WPU, Scroger spent five seasons as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Thiel College. During that time, her players earned 10 all-conference honors. In Spring 2021, despite a shortened season, the team had its best conference record since 2014, including an undefeated record at home. In 2019, her team finished with the most wins for the program since 2014. During the 2020-2021 year, her team was awarded the United Soccer Coaches Academic Award for the first time in program history, posting a 3.65 Team GPA.

Scroger was the Assistant Coach at Division II Seton Hill University in 2015 and 2016, helping the team to its first ever NCAA regional ranking in 2015. She coached one PSAC All-Conference honoree, as well as an All-Region selection. The Griffins boasted a 3.6+ Team GPA and were awarded the 2015 PSAC Conference Sportsmanship Award.

Scroger served as Assistant Coach at Division I Bucknell University in 2014. That season, the Bison went 10-9-2 and earned its first Patriot League Tournament victory since 2007. Scroger coached two all-conference players in 2014 and one All-Region player.

From 2012-2014, Scroger was an Assistant Coach at Washington & Jefferson College, during which the Presidents posted two 10-win seasons and made a conference semifinals appearance. Scroger coached eight all-conference players, two all-region players, two ECAC all-stars, two CoSIDA Academic All-District players, and the 2013 PAC Player of the Year during her two seasons with the Presidents.

As a student-athlete, Scroger was a four-year starter at goalkeeper for the State University of New York at Fredonia. During her playing career, the Blue Devils earned their first NCAA regional ranking, won a SUNYAC playoff game for the first time in program history, and made three SUNYAC and three ECAC tournament appearances. A three-time SUNYAC All-Conference Team selection, Scroger was also a three-time honoree on the SUNYAC All-Academic Team and Commissioner’s List. She was also named to the 2007 NSCAA/Adidas NCAA Division III All-Region Team and the D3Kicks All-New York Region Team. Scroger holds six goalkeeping records at SUNY-Fredonia, including: career goals-against average (1.03), single-season goals-against average (0.67), career shutouts (23) and career wins (37).
