Chaning Wimer, a Lancaster, Pa., native and graduate of California (Pa.), joined the women's soccer coaching staff prior to the 2016 season. Wimer has been integral in Millersville's recent return to the postseason.

In 2019, the program set a new record for wins in a season with 15 and won its first-ever NCAA Tournament game. In 2018, Marauders made their first PSAC Tournament appearance since 2003 and their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Most recently, in 2021, the Marauders made their second-ever trip to the PSAC title match. 

Wimer was a four-year starter in the midfield for an ultra-successful California Vulcans program from 2008-11. Most recently, Wimer served as the junior varsity girls' soccer coach and varsity assistant at Manheim Township High School from 2013-15. 

As a player, Wimer helped California to two NCAA Atlantic Region Championship, a PSAC Western Division title in 2009 and a No. 6 ranking in the NSCAA Top 25 in 2011. The 2011 club posted an undefeated regular season and won the program's first PSAC Championship. She played in 90 games and started 81 over the course of her career and scored 10 career goals. As a sports management major, Wimer picked up PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition twice and completed her bachelor's degree in 2012.

Following her playing career, Wimer stayed at California as a graduate assistant for academic support for student-athletes and earned a master's degree in sports management with concentration in sports counseling in 2013.
