Diamond King-Williams is in his first year as the Academic Success Coach for D'Youville Athletics, joining the department in June 2022.
King-Williams comes to D'Youville from Western New York Maritime where he served as the Director of Guidance. He successfully led students through their admission into institutions such as the Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Harvard University, Virginia Tech, and other well-known institutions. He created and implemented a Student-Athlete Readiness program, increasing student FAFSA completion rate by 39% in just a year. King-Williams also served as the assistant football coach for the back-to-back Class B Championship team led by two athletes who went on to play at prominent Division I institutions.
Prior to his time at Western New York Maritime, King-Williams served as a graduate assistant for Purdue Athletics in the Drew Brees Academic Center. He was a member of the football advising team, helping the players to four consecutive semesters with record grade-point averages.
King-Williams attended graduate school at Purdue University, graduating in 2020 with a Master of Science in education curriculum studies and instruction. At Purdue, King-Williams was the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor and graduate student mentor.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication from the University at Buffalo in 2017. While attending UB, King-Williams was a walk-on football player, starting on all four special team units.
King-Williams currently resides in Amherst, N.Y. He enjoys coaching, watching documentaries and series, and listening to music.
