Emma Heikkilä was announced as assistant coach of the women's soccer program in 2022.

Heikkilä brings a wealth of playing experience, both overseas and in the United States, and completed her Bachelor's Degree at Nova Southeaster University in 2020.

Emma began her career with Merilappi United in Finland, which included a 2015 season that saw her score 14 goals in the Finland Women's National League. Her efforts with Merliappi earned a call up to the Finland Girl's Youth National Team from 2012-2015. 

Heikkilä was recruited by NSU before the 2016 season and played all four seasons through 2019. She racked up a team-high 35 points from 14 goals and 17 assists in 2019. Emma holds the second most career goals and assists in program history for the Sharks. Throughout her tenure at NSU, Heikkilä was named an All-American for Division II as well as All-South Region.

Emma is currently studying for her Masters of Science in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance at JU, while also overseeing the full efforts in coaching the program.
