Gabby Muncy was named VCU Women's Soccer's Director of Leadership Development and Team Culture in July of 2022. Muncy had previously served as a volunteer assistant coach with the program for the 2020-21 season. She will specifically help the Rams develop team culture and leadership skills.

The 2024 season will be Muncy's third season helping shape the culture within the VCU program.

Prior to her time as a volunteer assistant, Muncy had a successful three-year stint as head coach for varsity girls soccer at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia.

While the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19, Muncy was one game away from guiding the Lady Eagles to the program’s second consecutive region championship in school history and finished with an overall record of 6-3-1. In the 2019 season, Muncy led the team to their first region championship since 2012 and MPCS finished the season 9-7-0 overall.

As a player, Muncy spent her first two seasons at Marshall University before transferring to VCU in the spring of 2014. During her two seasons as a Ram, Muncy served as team captain and SAAC president. She made the All-Academic team in both 2015 and 2016 and also received a Hammer Strength All-American nomination in 2016.

A dual-graduate of VCU, Muncy earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2016, before receiving her master’s degree in Sport Leadership in 2017.
