Gavin Scott joins the Midwestern State Women’s Soccer team coaching staff after closing out his collegiate career with the Mustangs in 2022.

Scott scored three goals, including two game-winning goals, as a fifth-year senior with Midwestern State. The Mustangs finished the season with a 13-6-3 record and won the LSC Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian in the final.

The native of Ayr, Scotland, spent four seasons with the Union Bulldogs of the Gulf South Conference.

During his time in Jackson, Tennessee, Scott started all 54 games in which he appeared and scored 31 goals with 13 assists for the Bulldogs.

In his senior season, Scott led Union and was third in the Gulf South Conference with 11 goals, and he led the Bulldogs with 27 shots on goal.

In 2019 and 2021, Scott was part of the D2CCA All-South Region team. He was first-team All-Gulf South Conference in 2021, when he also made the GSC Postseason All-Tournament Team. Union was 25-23-6 during Scott’s four years, including a 6-1-0 record during the Spring Championship Season of 2021 after the fall season was canceled due to COVID.

The Bulldogs won the Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series Title in 2021 by defeating Christian Brothers 1-0 in Huntsville, Alabama, and Scott assisted on the title-clinching goal. It was the first conference title of any kind in the history of Union men's soccer since its inaugural season in 1998.
