Hannah Deatherage joined App State’s sports medicine team in July 2022 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, providing coverage for Women’s Soccer, Cross Country, and Track and Field. 

Deatherage is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, NCBATE Licensed Athletic Trainer, and member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. 

Prior to App State, Deatherage served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2020-2022, where she provided care for the Tar Heels’ Women’s Lacrosse and Volleyball programs. Her coverage included the 2021 Women’s Volleyball NCAA Tournament, 2021 and 2022 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, and 2022 Women’s Lacrosse NCAA Championship. While at UNC, Deatherage received her master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science, with a specialization in athletic training, completing a thesis on collegiate student athletes’ mental health resource utilization and perception of care. 

A 2020 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Deatherage received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training where she cared for the men's and women’s basketball, track & field, wrestling, football, women’s soccer, and baseball teams.

Originally from Highlands Ranch, Colo., she now resides in Boone.
