Jordan Vejar is heading into his first season at the helm of the Spalding women's soccer program.
Prior to taking the helm of the Spalding program, Vejar was the head coach at Floyd Central High School for the women’s soccer team. He took over the program after a fifth-place conference finish the year prior. This past season, the team finished second in conference and only allowed four goals in league play. The program also won its sixth consecutive IHSAA Sectional Championship. The team was awarded four First Team All-Conference selections and four Honorable Mention All-Conference selections, as well as 10 ISCA Academic All-State awards.
In addition to coaching Floyd Central, Vejar operates his own soccer skills development/camp business called “Go5400”. Coach Vejar was a member of the 2019-20 United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 program, a coaching designation given to 15 male and 15 female coaches across the United States who have shown a true passion for coaching and impacting their community through soccer. He currently holds his USSF “C” coaching license, pursuing his Advanced National Diploma now, and will be pursuing more coaching education as his career continues.
Vejar has coached club soccer for six years and is now at Mockingbird Valley Premier where he coaches the 2007 and 2005 Boys Gold along with being the club’s Director of Communications. He has also spent time coaching with Indiana and Kentucky Olympic Development Programs.
Jordan is very familiar with soccer in the Louisville-Metro area as he was a player product from southern Indiana and then moved to Javanon FC for his final five seasons where he won three state cup titles, three MRL Premier Championships, and two second place finishes in US Youth Soccer National League (as part of the first team from Kentucky to be selected for National League). He was a 2013 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and left the soccer program there as the career leader in goals and assists. Jordan was also a four-time member of the Indiana Olympic Development Program where he led the team in scoring each year and also was invited to be part of the Region II Pool Team.
Coach Vejar began his college playing career at Bellarmine University before transferring to Marian University (IN) where he was a starting center midfielder. Following his college career, Vejar worked at ESPN Louisville as an Account Executive and was a volunteer assistant coach for the men’s team at Spalding. In the fall of 2018, he began his graduate assistantship with the Golden Eagles men’s soccer program. Coach Vejar completed his master’s degree in Business Communications with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. During his time as the GA, the Golden Eagles recorded a 27-9-4 (the program’s two winningest seasons) and made back-to-back post season appearances for the first time in program history.
Coach Vejar and his wife Janel, who is a first grade teacher, reside in Southern Indiana.
