Kelly Coffey was named head women’s soccer coach in March 2015. He came to Dominican Athletics as an assistant coach on the men’s side in August 2014. Prior to joining Dominican, Coffey spent seven seasons as a member of the San Francisco State men's soccer coaching staff. While with the Gators, Coffey helped develop and mentor three NSCAA West Region Team selections and six All-CCAA selections.

Coffey served as the head men's soccer coach and Physical Education instructor at College of Marin from 2003 to 2007. He also spent 2006-07 as the Mariners' assistant women's soccer coach.

Before taking over the men's soccer program at College of Marin, Coffey was an assistant men's soccer coach at University of San Francisco from 2002 to 2003 and was a staff coach for the Novato Youth Soccer Association select program. Before USF, Coffey was the head varsity boys coach at Quantico High School in 2001 in Quantico, Virginia.

Coffey has a USSF National “A” license as well as an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. In addition to his role at Dominican, Coffey is a lead staff coach with Marin FC and Central Marin Soccer Clubs based out of San Rafael, California. Coffey has also held head and assistant coaching roles with the USYSA Region IV Olympic Development Program and with Cal-North State ODP.

Coffey received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he was a four-year starter for the men's soccer team and was the team captain from 1998 to 2000. During his career at MWC, the team won three Capitol Athletic Conference Championships and made the NCAA tournament twice. Coffey played a key role in Mary Washington's two consecutive appearances in the National Tournament, with a Final Four appearance and and No. 3 national ranking in 1997. The 1997 team was inducted into the Mary Washington Athletics Hall of Fame in January 2015. Coffey was a two-time member of the Capitol Athletic All-Conference Team and Mary Washington team MVP his senior year in 1999. Coffey received his Masters in Sports Management from USF in 2003.
