Ken Howard joined the Concordia-Chicago (CUC) staff as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach in the fall of 2018.

Howard earned his B.S. degree from Purdue University and his Master's degree from CUC. Currently, he is working toward his Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance at CUC.

Before being appointed Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Howard worked with the CUC Men's Basketball athletes to design, implement, and supervise customized and sport-specific evidence-based strength and conditioning protocols for the team. A former business and fitness facility owner, Howard is dedicated to helping the Cougars' 20 intercollegiate programs reach their health and performance goals.

In addition, Howard teaches courses in CUC's on-campus Exercise Science program and the accelerated Kinesiology program online. He instructs Corrective Exercise and Program Design workshops for the Brookbush Institute of Human Movement Science and prepares the next wave of strength coaches as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Exam Live Clinic Instructor for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Howard holds a multitude of certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC), NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN).

Howard's introduction to the industry dates back to 2008 when he overcame some personal challenges and lost 55 pounds, prompting him to pursue a career in fitness, which shortly evolved into strength and conditioning. Howard's accomplishments earned featured infomercials for P90X, P90X2, and P90X3, and his weight loss transformation resulted in being named a Beachbody Challenge Finalist and showcased in Ironman Magazine, Muscle and Fitness, and Bodybuilding.com.

Howard currently resides in Maywood with his wife, Terran.
