Shelby Sims joined the CUC women's soccer coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach in 2023.

As an alumni of the CUC women's soccer program, Sims competed in one season as a Cougar women's soccer player. She started in all 16 matches for the Cougars and led the team with 1,276 minutes played. As a midfielder, she took four shots on the season, two of those on goal, and had eight 90-minute games. 

Prior to coming to CUC, Sims played four years of soccer at Monmouth College. For the Scots, she appeared in 53 games, starting in 28 of those. She scored a total of four assists and five goals in her time at Monmouth. In 2019, Sims was a part of the Midwest Conference Tournament Championships team. As a student, Sims worked as a student worker at Trotter Fitness and a Tennis Instructor at Peoria Park District.

Currently, Sims has been working as a Lab Assistant in CUC's Early Childhood Education Center.

Sims graduated with a degree in Psychology from Monmouth College in 2021. She is currently working towards her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at CUC.
