Kurt Palmer was hired ahead of the 2023 season to join Phil Casella’s coaching staff for the Wagner women’s soccer program.

“I'm super excited about hiring Kurt to work with our goalkeepers and defenders,” Casella said. “He has tons of experience and knowledge of the goalkeeper position and is really going to challenge our players. He is going to bring a wealth of knowledge and energy to our program. I can't wait for him to get started.”

Palmer was a member of the 1996 Men's Soccer National's Championship team at St. John's. After his playing career came to a close, Palmer became an assistant coach at Rockland Community College until 2001.

After teaching physical education and mathematics, Palmer returned to coach at the collegiate level when he became an assistant coach at St. Francis Brooklyn in 2004. He also spent eight years at Adelphi starting in 2008. During those two tenures he also coached recreational and travel teams at Storm Soccer Academy from 2005 onward.
