Lee joined the Wildcats' staff in January 2022 after spending seven seasons as the assistant coach at Division I Cal Poly.

In the fall of 2019, Sophia Brown capped her Mustang career with the second Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week accolade of her senior year, as she earned the award after not only posting a shutout but also scoring a seldom-seen goal tallied by a goalkeeper (converting a penalty). Brown, Brittney Viboch and Domenique Banta combined on five shutouts in 2017. From 2014 to 2015, Lee coached Alyssa Giannetti, who broke Cal Poly all-time school records for starts (76), minutes played (7,029) and saves (380).

Giannetti was a Virginia Nike Classic All-Tournament Team selection and two-time Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week in her final year as a Mustang. After being ranked by EverybodySoccer as the No. 3 senior goalkeeping prospect in the nation, Giannetti signed a professional contract with Arna-Bjørnar of the Toppserien in Norway in February 2016. She went on to be named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year by the Norwegian Football Federation.

Outside the college ranks, Lee is a head coach and director of goalkeeping for the Central Coast United organization. She serves as head coach for the U13 and U9, as well as serving as overseeing the goalkeeper training for teams from U8-U18. Lee began her stint with Central Coast United in 2014.

As a player, Lee was a goalkeeper for Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.  She finished her senior season at Westmont as a first-team All-American, anchoring the Warriors during their run to the 2013 NAIA National Championship match in Alabama.

In Westmont’s two postseason games that came down to penalties, she blocked a combined four out of 11 attempts as the Warriors advanced each time. Lee, a three-time All-GSAC honoree from Pleasanton, California, finished her career with 61 starts between the posts, a school record.

After earning her degree in History with a focus in Secondary Education from Westmont in 2013, Lee added her Master’s in History at Cal Poly in 2017.
