Matt Parnell enters his first year as an assistant coach at Mount Union for the 2023 season.

Parnell served as an assistant coach at Copley high school for the past four years.

As a player at Mount Union, he was named honorable mention All-OAC in 2007. He was also named Academic All-OAC in 2007 and 2008.

Parnell is a native of Akron, OH. He graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business. He was a four-year letter winner, three-year starter and senior captain during his career. He received his masters from the University of Akron in Sports Science/Coaching in 2011.
