Vollmer enters his first season with Utah Valley after a successful coaching career at both the professional and high school level. He comes to UVU after serving as the head coach of the Muskegon Risers in the Arena Major Soccer League. 

Prior to coaching the Risers, Vollmer spent six years as the team's goalkeeper. He also spent the 2020 season as the goalkeeper for the Milwaukee Wave. Vollmer also spent a season as the head coach of the Grand Haven Admirals, a semi-pro team in the Midwest Premier League. His playing experience also includes seven years as the keeper for the US Virgin Islands National Beach Team where he is a two-time World Cup qualifier and a ANOC World Beach games qualifier. 

A Michigan native, Vollmer has also coached at East Grand Rapids High School since the 2015 season. He has led the Pioneers to a district and regional championship in his first season with the team and has since won three straight conference titles. 

Vollmer is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.
