Sydney Bushman enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Utah Valley women's soccer team.

The American Fork, Utah native played four years for Utah Valley from 2020-23. She played in 79 matches while making 75 starts on the UVU back line. Despite her defensive role, Bushman scored 10 goals with four assists for 24 points. She had a pair of game-winning goals during her senior season in 2023. She led the Wolverines to a pair of WAC regular season championships in 2020 and 2022. She played a key role in helping UVU to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win in a 1-0 shutout over No. 25 Memphis in the first round of the 2020 NCAA Tournament. 

Bushman was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Year and received First Team All-WAC honors this past season for Utah Valley. Bushman was impressive on the back line all year, helping the Wolverines to seven shutouts, including six in WAC play. Bushman and the UVU defense allowed only three goals during WAC play (0.33 GAA) and limited opponents to just 7.1 shots per game during conference action. Bushman also helped offensively on set pieces, scoring four goals with two assists and 10 points this season. 

Bushman graduated from Utah Valley in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She is currently working towards her MBA at UVU.
